Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo

Hi all, just back from the tour to Australia Zoo. It was a pretty full day, & a fast one, I can't believe how fast the day has gone by. It's quite a legacy that Steve Irwin has left for his children & for everyone to enjoy; I think I barely scratched the surface of his zoo, which is really quite large, but I pretty much saw lots of crocs, a few snakes, lots of beautiful birds, among many kinds of animals there, also my beloved koalas again & I've had my 2nd snap with a koala which was awesome! I also got a picture taken hand feeding an elephant, there were also some camels too. It did rain a tiny bit, but overall it was a good day again today.

The Crococeum was interesting too, that's where they brought out the snakes & crocs & birds, the keepers also did a great talk on conservation of the animals. One of the things I was a bit surprised about was just how "commercial" the gift shops were, not that I bought much, but there's just about everything under the sun, with the faces of Steve, Terri, Bindi & Bob plastered onto just about anything & everything you could imagine. Generally though, it was definitely worth the trip to Beerwah, where the zoo is located, about an hour outside of Brisbane, you'd definitely be hard pressed to try & see all of the zoo in one day, but it's definitely worth the trip.
